Special Projects
For 2008 the board has identified the following special projects.
Planting Trees in Greenbelt
In 2007 the City of Sammamish widened the road on 228th adding a sidewalk and turn lane. While the project is a huge benefit to residents, making it easier to enter and exit the neighborhood plus reducing morning congestion, the neighborhood lost a significant amount of foliage that provided screening from the busy road. To help correct the problem, the association will plant trees in the greenbelt area. While trees will take many years to reach maturity and provide the protection we lost, the board is looking to the long-term benefit of residents.
Roadside Gravel
Until now, the Cimarron HOA has taken responsibility for maintaining roadside verges. This was mainly due to our ability to procure free gravel from a resident and because residents volunteered provided all the labor. Because of the excessive costs for maintaining and regraveling verges, the association can no longer assume this responsibility. Residents will be responsible for maintaining verges boarding their homes.
To help bring the roadsides up to an acceptable level, in 2008 the association will provide gravel to cover the weedy areas in the neighborhood. While residents will be responsible for spreading the gravel, the gravel will be provided and, hopefully, neighbors will pitch in to help one another do the spreading. For more information, see

Website
Early in 2008, the board completed the first phase of the Cimarron of Sammamish HOA website. This includes basic information, an interactive FAQ knowledge base, plus a CRM for online submission of requests and questions. Future enhancements could include members only section, interactive calendar and news, and more.
