Survey Results

For the months of May and June the Cimarron HOA posted a survey on its website to find out what residents want/expect from the board.  In particular, the board wanted to know what residents thought of the increased CC&R enforcement.  In addition to the survey, the board had a town-hall type meeting where residents could come and voice their opinion and offer direction.

The end result of the survey and the meeting is that it is obvious there is a diversity of needs and opinions among residents.  Some residents believe the board is doing a terrific job while others believe we are the worst board possible.  Overall, however, it seems that the majority of residents believe the board is doing the right things, though there is diversity in which standards people view as most important.

While the board would like to let the survey results speak for themselves without comment or commentary, we would like to respond to concerns from several residents regarding notifications for violations:

First of all, it is not a big deal to receive a notice of violation.  Likely you would fix the problem within the time frame anyway so there is no need to worry.  The notice is simply a friendly reminder.

Secondly, the board is flexible and will always work with residents who are willing to work with the board.  In the past, we have organized neighborhood work parties and arranged for contractors to help residents correct problems.  We can also be flexible on timelines as required and appropriate.

Lastly, we would like to reiterate that the purpose of the CC&Rs, the board, and the overall standards is to protect our home values, foster a positive community, and support the residents of the neighborhood.  The current board is doing its best to achieve these objectives and seeks to be a resource for all residents.  Just let us know how we can help!
